(03)Disciplines

Seven crafts,one studio.

The studio started out drawing things by hand, then rendered them in 3D, then filmed them, and now ships them as software. Each craft sharpens the others.

1990–1994 · Agra

  1. 1990–1994 · Agra

    The Analogue Foundation

Founded in Agra as a multimedia and design practice. Conceptualization, print, and the first generation of digital pre-press — learning craft on deadlines that did not forgive.

  2. 1995–2012 · Gwalior

    Dimension & Motion

The studio moves to Gwalior. 3D design, animation, and short-form documentary become its core — broadcast, corporate, and institutional work across India.

  3. 2012–2024

    Teaching the Toolchain

Training programmes in design and 3D for institutions and studios, running alongside production work. A generation of designers passes through.

  4. 2024→

    Software as the Medium

The practice turns to SaaS, enterprise, and platform design. Same discipline — concept first, craft always — applied to systems instead of frames.

Concept first,craft always.

  1. 01

    Interrogate

We start by arguing with the brief. Who is it for, what does it replace, what breaks at 10× the users?

  2. 02

    Architect

Information architecture, data model, and design system agreed before a single screen is styled.

  3. 03

    Compose

Interface design and motion — built as components, documented as a system, not decorated as screens.

  4. 04

    Engineer

Production build with performance, accessibility, and security treated as requirements, not polish.

  5. 05

    Sustain

Handover, instrumentation, and iteration. Software is a tenancy, not a delivery.
